At Bella Mar we attend to every aspect of the resident’s life (physical, social, emotional) with the goal of supporting or restoring feelings of self-esteem, dignity and success. Under the direction of a licensed nurse, with support and supervision of the resident’s primary physician and appropriate consultation of a geropsychiatric (MD) specialist, as needed the care team is well-prepared to offer state-of-the-art case management for each resident.

Each resident undergoes a thorough evaluation at the time of admission. Family members or other significant caregivers, along with the multidisciplinary team, design an individualized plan of care and therapeutic activities program that addresses each resident’s specific needs.

Monitoring of medications, careful observation of change in physical condition and/or behavior and appropriate modification of the care plan demonstrates Bella Mar’s sensitive responsiveness to the resident’s needs. Maximizing independence while maintaining safety is our commitment to the resident, the family and resident care team.

Social Events

Providing for our residents’ social and emotional needs is as important to us as looking after their physical well being. To meet those needs, Bella Mar starts by interviewing the family and resident to discover history and interests. Based on this information, enriching social activities are developed.

Personal and Health Support Services

Utilizing each resident’s potential for independence, while understanding his/her limitations, the Care Team is prepared to provide assistance with activities of daily living, including: bathing, dressing, personal grooming, dining social activities and medication management.

The following services and amenities are included in the monthly rental fee:

• Daily hygiene, dressing and grooming assistance
• Incontinence management program
• Ambulation and transfer assistance
• Daily housekeeping
• Personal laundry service
• Provision of all linens and bedding
• Three delicious, nutritional meals
• Doctor prescribed special diets
• Daily snacks and juices
• Tray service available
• Nurse call system in each resident’s room
• Hospice Care Program for End of Life Care
• Medication management/monitoring Coordination and documentation of medical/professional visits
• Action-oriented, structured activities program supervised by specially trained Activities Director

Each day begins with a delicious Breakfast… hot cereal, fresh fruit, selection of eggs, breads, juices, hot-cakes, and waffles. Dinner features hot entrees such as baked fish, roasted turkey, pot roast, potatoes, pasta, rice, fresh salads and vegetables, homemade deserts and breads.

At Supper Time, casseroles, homemade soups and sandwiches, fresh fruits, salads and choice of hot & cold beverages are served. Nutritious snacks are served each day at approximately 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Bella Mar is a viable alternative for adults, 60 years and older, who no longer benefit from day care but do not need the intensive services of a skilled nursing home.

• Attractive décor and soft colors provide a tranquil, homelike setting for 32 residents.
• Comprehensive geriatric assessment and consulting team provides ongoing medical evaluation.
• Special security features for the safety of wandering residents.
• Our beautiful inner courtyard provides year-round enjoyment, plus continual freedom of movement for our residents.

Bella Mar operates on a monthly rental basis with no entrance fee. Monthly payment includes lovely accommodations. (Private or semi-private room), and all amenities and services outlined in our brochure. We accept most long term insurances.
